A visit to kurudumalle Ganesha temple The temple is nestled in a small village some 10 kms from Mulbagal on Srinivaspura road. One can drive up to the entrance and enter the forecourt.The idol sits on a pedestal of nearly 4 feet and is 13.5 feet tall. It is chiseled out of a huge monolithic 'Saligrama Shile'and is supposed to be the tallest in the world.(amongst Saligrama Shile carving Mythology attributes the installation of the idol to the Trimurti!Hence The Vinayaka is supposed to have been there since time immemorial. How ever the temple structure is of Vijayanagar period and hence it is majestic and simple. The greatest thing about the idol is that it is one of the finest idols you will ever see.
